She was born on Oct. 20, 1924, the daughter of Rollin and Wilhelmina 'Minnie' (Lehner) Kerste. Jean was a 1942 graduate of Sandusky High School. Over the years, she enjoyed working in her yard and tending to her flowers, playing cards, traveling with her husband, Bill, and going on picnics, but she especially enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, William C. "Bill" Souter (Feb. 11, 2008).
Due to coronavirus pandemic restrictions, the funeral services will be private. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, in Huron.
