Jean A. (David) Seeholzer, 82, of Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly early Saturday morning, January 22, 2022, with family at her side at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky.
Born on August 14, 1939, in Canton, OH the daughter of Albert Theodore and Marguerite Edith (Ernest) David, Sr.. Jean was a 1957 graduate of Vermilion High School. She had been a foster parent for many years for over 30 newborn babies for Catholic Charities and had watched and cared for many children throughout the years. For her entire life Jean selflessly served others, always putting everyone else’s needs before her own. Jean loved her family and traveling with them, especially to Kelleys Island, but she truly enjoyed attending the grandchildren and the great-grandchildrens sporting events and their many activities over the years.
Jean had a deep Christian faith and was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church where she had been a Eucharistic Minister and she had also made pies for the bereavement luncheons.
Jean had also been more recently working as a volunteer at the Gift Shop at Firelands South Campus.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Robert C. "Bob" Seeholzer whom she married on August 23, 1958; her two daughters, Barbara (Chris) Ohlemacher and Margaret (Dan) Schwerer of Sandusky; her two sons, Rob (Monica) Seeholzer of Sandusky and John Seeholzer of Port Clinton; 12 grandchildren, Elise (Danny), Kristy (Nick), Lauren (Ryan), Jacob (Emily), Carliann, Nathan (Alison), Rebecca, Abbey, Caid, Eliana, Dylan and Deven; six great-grandchildren, Mason, Addison, Oakley, Austin, Cole and Isaac; and her nieces and nephews.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Marguerite "Peggy" David-Hoffman; and a brother, Albert T. David, Jr.. She will be deeply missed by all of those who were blessed to know her.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 28, 2022, from 4-7 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Prayers will be recited Saturday morning, January 29, 2022, at 9:30 am at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Prior to the Mass a eulogy will be given by her son Rob. Fr. Monte Hoyles officiating. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, in Huron, OH.
