Janis Eulalia (Cook) McKenna

Janis E. "Jan" (Cook) McKenna, 94, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully late Friday morning, October 29, 2021, at The Meadows at Osborn Park, in Huron, OH.
   Born on January 29, 1927, in Dayton, OH the daughter of Webster Thomas and Elise (Cullen) Cook.  She attended Julienne High School and later graduated from Fairview High School in 1944.  She moved to the Sandusky area from Dayton, OH in 1952.  For nearly 20 years she had worked as a receptionist for Dr. Jeffery's, retiring in 1989.  She will be remembered by her family for being a loving mother and grandmother.  Over the years,  she had enjoyed watching her kids and the grandkids while they were involved in sporting events and other activities.  
   Jan was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and had been a member of a card club, for many years, having played bridge. 
   She is survived by two sons, Timothy (Sherry) McKenna of Sandusky and John (Susan) McKenna of Buckeye, AZ; her five daughters, Elizabeth "Beth" McKenna of Parma, Molly (Doug) Windisch of Sandusky, Julie (Peter) Stokes of Catawba Island, Jennifer "Jenny" Rowles of Sandusky and Barbara (Ronald) Thring of Venice, FL;  11 grandchildren, Kari, Kristy, Matthew, Tami, Jacob, Kelli, Drew, Dane, Aaron, Kyle, and Patrick; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Helen Kennedy; a son-in-law, Chuck Austin of Niles, MI;  and several nieces and nephews.
   She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 68 years, Francis H. "Fran" McKenna on April 13, 2020; her daughter, Sharon Austin (January 3, 2017); a grandson, Jeffrey J. McKenna (2003); her son-in-law, Jim Rowles; and two sisters, Mae Elise Scudder and Lurline Banks; and her three brothers-in-law, Robert Scudder, William Banks and Robert Kennedy.
   Visitation will be held on Friday morning, November 5, 2021, from 8:30 am until time of prayers at 9:40 am at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 am at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.  Fr. Monte Hoyles officiating.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
