Janet Ann (Gundlach) Kenne, 88, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully late Saturday morning, November 18, 2023, at the MetroHealth Medical Center, in Cleveland, OH.
Born on June 14, 1935, in Sandusky, OH the daughter of Cyril G. and Freda M. (Herman) Gundlach. She was a 1953 graduate of Norwalk St. Paul High School. Janet had worked at Providence Hospital and later at Firelands Hospital as a medical transcriptionist for many years before retiring. Over the years, she loved reading, traveling and spending time with her family and the grandchildren. Boating and spending time on the islands was a favorite summer pastime. Janet was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns and had also loved watching the Cleveland Indians and The Ohio State Buckeyes over the years.
She was a member of the Amvets Ladies Auxiliary, the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post # 83, the Sandusky Yacht Club and the Middle Bass Yacht Club.
Janet is survived by her four sons, Matt (Marcia Frankart) Kenne of Port Charlotte, FL, Mark (Terry) Kenne of Lincoln, NE, Mike (Diana) Kenne of DeGraff, OH and Pat (Paula) Kenne of Westerville, OH; her five grandchildren, Autumn (Andrew) Mercer of Sandusky, Elizabeth (Jonas) Grundman of Omaha, NE, Danielle (Sean) O'Neill of Beavercreek, OH, Mikaela (Nick) McMahan of Bellefontaine, OH and Megan (Jillian Gray) Kenne of Cincinnati, OH; and her three great-grandsons; a niece and three nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond P. "Ray" Kenne (1986); a daughter, Rae "Anne" Kenne (2010); and her brother. Eugene "Gene" Gundlach.
It was her wish to be cremated and no services to be held.
