Jane A. (Hayes) Bellamy, 80, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, September 11, 2025 at the Parkvue Health Care Center, Sandusky, after a brief illness.
Born on June 25, 1945, in Toledo, OH the daughter of Edward James and Ethel Mae (Crane) Hayes. She was a 1963 graduate of St. Mary's High School and later becoming a Registered Nurse having graduated in 1965 from the St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing, in Toledo, OH. Jane had worked as a Registered Nurse at the Ohio Veterans Home for many years, retiring in 2009.
She enjoyed reading, sewing (especially clothes for her family), and cross stitching, but she especially loved spending time with the family and attending her grandchildren sporting events over the years.
Jane was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Richard G. Bellamy, Sr., whom she married on August 6, 1966; her three sons, Richard G. (Denise) Bellamy, Jr., Stephen and Robert Bellamy; a daughter, Barbara A. (Robert) Rhoads, all of Sandusky; her five grandchildren, Kyle (Jackie) Bellamy, Kody (Tracey) Bellamy, Korri (Brandon) Brown, Colin Bellamy and Brittney Rhoads; her five great-grandchildren, Zane, Charlie, Harper, Amelia and Lawson; a sister, Carolyn Craig of Oregon, OH; and several nieces and nephews.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Brooke Rhoads; and a brother, Frank Hayes.
It was Jane's wish to be cremated. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 4-7 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, OH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Jane on Friday morning, September 19, 2025, at 10 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Avenue, Sandusky, OH. Fr. Chris Turner officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Calvary Cemetery Columbarium, Sandusky, OH.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in her memory to "Make A Wish," 6060 Rockside Woods Blvd N, # 315, Independence, OH 44131.
