James R. "Jim" Wolfe, 86, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully late Tuesday afternoon, March 30, 2021, in the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
Born on May 25, 1934, in Sandusky, OH the son of Theodore James and Mary Louise (Pete) Wolfe. He was a 1952 graduate of Sandusky High School. Jim had worked for the Sandusky Police Department for nearly 35 years, retiring as a Sergeant, in 1989. Over the years, he had enjoyed caning chairs and camping with his wife, Marlene, over at their place at the Berlin Heights Campground. He enjoyed starting his own flowers and vegetables from seeds. Also, he loved fishing and assembling model kits.
For over 60 years he had been a member of the Fraternal Order of Police.
Jim is survived by his family, James (Loretta) Wolfe of Bellevue, Laura Wolfe and Gary (Diane) Wolfe, both of Sandusky; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren and two on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife of 61 years, Marlene R. (Smith) Wolfe on January 6, 2017.
At the request of the family, private funeral services to be held. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron, OH.
The family suggest that memorial contributions be made in his memory to ones favorite charity.
