James A. "Jimmy" Walter, 59, of Sandusky, OH passed away unexpectedly early Sunday afternoon, May 18, 2025, at his home.
Born on June 29, 1965, in Sandusky, OH the son of Allen James and Julie Ann (Popke) Walter. He was a 1984 graduate of Monroeville High School (having attended EHOVE). Jim had worked as a mechanic over the years and had most recently worked for the Speer Brothers and the Construction Equipment Company, for several years.
He'll be remembered by his family how he had enjoyed working and tinkering around the house, going four wheeling, riding motorcycles and snowmobiling.
Jim was a member of the Sandusky Athletic Club, Twisted 3, and the Bellevue Eagles Aerie # 490.
He is survived by his mother, Julie and his father, Dean H. Betschman, who raised Jim from when he was a very young boy; his two sons, Aaron (Crickett) Walter and Adam (Paulina Crawford-Gerber) Walter; a daughter, Paxton Douglas and her husband, Jacob Coldiron; three grandchildren, Cameron, Mila, and Aliza Walter; his siblings, Joe Walter, Tracie Betschman and Dan (Patty) Betschman; a niece, Sydney Walter; a nephew, Bradley Betschman; and his girlfriend, Cheri West.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Allen James Walter (1967); and a son in infancy, Allen Joseph Walter.
It was his wish to be cremated. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 23, 2025, from 4-7 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, OH. A memorial service will be held Saturday morning, May 24, 2025, at 11 am at the funeral home.
The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in his memory to his family.
