Irene Agnes (Klingshirn) Wohlever, 97, of Grand Haven, MI, formerly of Sandusky, OH passed away late Monday evening, May 31, 2021, at her grandson's home .
Born on March 24, 1924, in Avon, OH the daughter of Charles P. and Mary (Frank) Klingshirn. Irene was known as "Toots" by her family. She was an independent and strong-willed individual, loved visiting immediate and extended family; she was very social, enjoyed card clubs and playing Bingo; she was great with numbers and did her own taxes well into her 90's. She relished sweets, candy, and outings to Toft's ice cream. Irene had a green thumb both indoors and out, she had one Christmas cactus bloom for over 10 years. She was a devoted Catholic, active in her parish (Holy Angels Catholic Church) and the Daughters of Isabella
Irene is survived by her children, Linda (Dick Kerber) Wohlever of Bay Village, OH, Sandra (Kim) Early of Coto de Caza, CA, Keith (Christy) Wohlever of Castle Rock, CO and Michelle (Anthony) Ciccantelli of Grand Haven, MI; her grandchildren, Julianne (Michael) Snyder and Phillip (Michelle) Kerber, Derek (Elisa) Early, Karen (Ryan) Otte, Jennifer (Brian) Smith, Laura Wohlever, Angelina (Stephen) Adams, Dominic, Gabriella and Vincent Ciccantelli; and her great-grandchildren, Paige and Sloane Kerber, Matthew Snyder, Gavin and Norah Early, Blake Smith, Katelyn and Elizabeth Otte.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Wohlever; and her granddaughter, Michaela Ciccantelli.
Private family visitation will be held. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Irene on Thursday morning, June 3, 2021, at 10 am at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 428 Tiffin Avenue, Sandusky. Fr. Zack Brown officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her name to Holy Angels Catholic Church, 428 Tiffin Avenue, Sandusky, OH 44870 or to Hospice of Michigan, 989 Spaudling SE, Ada, MI 49301.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to our friends at Systema Funeral Home, the nurses at Hospice of Michigan, and caregivers, Mary, Maire and Emilia.
