Howard L. "Buzz" Busdicker, 97, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully early Thursday afternoon, December 9, 2021, at the Parkvue Health Care Center, Sandusky.
Born on October 6, 1924, in Fremont, OH the son of William Gerhardt and Sophia Amelia (Gahn) Busdicker. He attended Fremont Ross High School and later received and Electrical Engineering Degree from International Correspondence School. Howard was a veteran, having served honorably in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper with Company M in the 19th Infantry Regiment, reaching the rank of Corporal. He was a resident of Sandusky since 1950 and had also wintered in Bonita Springs, FL for many years.
Howard had worked for the Ohio Edison Company retiring in 1986, after 40 years of service. He was past president of the Ohio Society of Professional Engineers Lake Erie Chapter and for 10 years he had held Executive Office in the Erie County Home Builders Association.
Over the years, he had attended St. Stephen United Church of Christ, was a member of the Huron Yacht Club, the Elks Lodge, the American Legion Post # 17, the Science Lodge and 32 Degree Scottish Rite Mason, and the Bronson Norwalk Conservation League.
Howard is survived by his wife of 41 years, Virginia (Seitz) Busdicker whom he married on June 14, 1980; his two daughters, Becky (Tim) Brown and Beth Busdicker both of Sandusky; his daughter-in-law, Heidi Busdicker of Huron; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Esther Gibson of Fremont; and his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Bill "Buzz" Busdicker; two brothers, Frederick William Busdicker in infancy and William F. Busdicker; two sisters, Lucille Reed and Dorothy Thomson.
Visitation will be held Wednesday morning, December 15, 2021, from 10 am until time of the funeral service at 11 am at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Rev. Jerald A. Fenske officiating. Entombment will be in the Meadow Green Memorial Park Mausoleum, Huron. Military honors will be
conducted by the American Legion Post #17 and the V.F.W. Post # 2529.
