Hilda May (Winter) Brown

Hilda M. "May" Brown, 90, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully early Wednesday afternoon, August 25, 2021, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky, OH.
   Born on October 22, 1930, in Badgers Quay, Newfoundland, Canada the daughter of Job Keats and Frances Julia (Kelloway) Winter.  May had worked at the Vacationland Nursing Home and other local homes for many years, retiring in 1983.   Over the years, she enjoyed crocheting, knitting and quilting, but she especially loved traveling with her husband, Bill, in their motor home.  She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.  Her love of the Lord began at an early age and her faith remained with her throughout her life.  She loved singing hymns and songs about Newfoundland. 
   May is survived by her husband of 71 years, William B. "Bill" Brown whom she married on July 12, 1950; her family, David (Sabina) Brown of Huron, Daniel (Teresa) Brown of Rigby, ID, Marie (Curt) Koelsch of Sandusky, Jeanne (Mark) Manner of Sandusky, Thomas Brown of Sandusky, Cindy (Larry) Wylie of Fremont and Allan (Beckey) Brown of Monroeville;  and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; sister, Leah Tulk of St. John's, Canada; and nieces and nephews.
   She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Steve Brown; a sister, Loretta Spurrell; 2 brothers and a sister in infancy.
   Visitation will be held Monday morning, August 30, 2021, from 8:30 am until time of prayers at 9:40 am at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.  Due to COVID-19 health concerns, the family requests, that you would wear a face mask (they will be offered).  If you are uneasy about attending, please feel free to leave a message to the family on our website.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 am at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Fr. Zachary Brown officiating.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
