Harry is survived by his daughter Shelley, son-in-law Timothy Ross, grandsons Michael and Zachary of Tiffin, Ohio.  He is also survived by his twin sister Shirley (Don) Smith of Sandusky, brother-in-law Lloyd Crabtree of Milan, nephews Tony (Melinda) Crabtree, Scott (Teresa) Crabtree, Jason (Gina) Baumgartner, nieces Monica (Russell) Shupp, Sherry Jagel, Robin Baumgartner and Michele (Joseph) Myers.  Special to him were also his step-daughters Barbara (Russell) Cook of Bellevue, Dawn (Jason Sichina) Collins of Vickery and his “other daughter” Susan (Christopher) Wynn of Broadview Heights.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Bernd Baumgartner and Rudolf Beregsasi, sister Inge (Beregsasi) Crabtree and sister-in-law Shirley Baumgartner.

Harry is the son of parents who immigrated from Germany in 1949.  He attended Sandusky High School and recently received an Honorary Diploma.  He served in the United States Army from 1969-1971 when he was discharged with a Purple Heart after serving in the Vietnam War.  He worked for over 35 year at Mayflower Vehicle Systems in Norwalk and was a welder by trade.

Harry enjoyed traveling, trips to the Lake Erie islands, going to Cedar Point, bird watching and nature, fishing and relaxing at the Jackson Street Pier in Downtown Sandusky.  He loved visiting and spending time with family, especially watching his grandsons during the summer and attending their school events, sports and music concerts.  In 2017 he got a puppy, Bella, that he adored but later gave to his grandson.  He enjoyed taking her for walks, playing with her and taking naps together.  Over the years he visited many churches and enjoyed reading and studying the Bible.  During his retirement he spent a lot of time at local libraries and bookstores.  He was quiet and shared his love for Christ with his family and friends.  He recently took an interest in art and attending art therapy classes.

Harry attended Second Chance Chapel and numerous Bible study groups and was a member of the American Legion Post #83.
