Gretchen Savannah Horner, 24, of Sandusky, passed away early Saturday morning, August 22, 2020, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky.
Born on December 8, 1995, in Fayetteville, NC the daughter of James Robert Horner and Beverly "Jean" (Anderson) Brown. Gretchen graduated from Perkins High School in 2015 and later from the Ohio Business College in 2017 with an Associates Degree in Medical Billing and Coding.
She worked at Cedar Point in Food Services for 3 years, where she was a supervisor, at Partner's-in-Community and later at Ventura.
Gretchen loved her family and friends, holidays, attending Heartbeat, PHS Band, going on cruises, scrapbooking, going out to eat, and her social media. She loved being around people. Gretchen was a social butterfly with a beautiful spirit. She had a smile that would go on for miles and a laugh that was infectious. Gretchen was such a kind hearted and loving young lady. She and her mom had an extremely close relationship.
Gretchen is survived by her parents, Jean Brown and stepdad, John Gentry, Jr.; her dad, Jim (KJ) Horner; and special stepmom, Michele Horner; her sister, Emma; and brothers, Jacob and Kalibur Horner; a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins, Tammy Thompson, Megan (James), Jake (Alexis) and Owen Thompson; Jim (Chastidy) and Jed Anderson, Jessica (James), Brantley and Kennedy Kimberlin; James (Marci), Chris, Matthew (Cassie Jo), Gloria, Cameron, Tim (Angie), Tonya Horner and Jim (Corinne) Gentry; her paternal grandparents, Richard and Judy Horner her maternal grandmother, Aline Anderson, Linda Amicarelli; god mother, Pat Vorhees; god father, Bill Vorhees; god parents, Dr. Larry (April) McCormack; a cousin, Drs. David (Kathryn) Canaday, Jack and, Will Canaday; and a very big part of Gretchen's life and heart was Wes Molina and he will always continue to be a special part of our family.
Gretchen was preceded in death by her twin brothers, Joshua and Jeffrey; and her maternal grandfather, Mike Anderson.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2020, from 5-8 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Due to the COVID-19 health concerns, wearing of masks (they will be offered) and social distancing will be mandatory. Graveside services will be held Friday afternoon, August 28, 2020, at 2 pm at Meadow Green Memorial Park, 2602 Bogart Road, Huron, OH.
