Geraldine N. "Jeri" Shafer, 70, of Sandusky, passed away late Friday evening, February 7, 2020, at her home from natural causes.
Born on September 9, 1949, in Sandusky, OH, the daughter of Jerry Franklin and Mary Ellen (Bartlett) Shafter. In years past, she had worked at Double S Industries for awhile. She will be remembered by her family how she was quite an innocent soul and how she always wanted to help others. Jeri also enjoyed riding her bike, but she especially loved kids and helping raise and care for the ones in her family. Truly her weakness in life were banana splits, chocolate cake and coffee.
Jeri is survived by her sisters and brothers, Sandi Gildenmeister, Robert F. (Jonnie) Shafer, Susan (Lee) Volmer, Vicki Linkenbach, Rick (Kathy) Shafer and Julie (Mike) Marsinko; and many and many nieces and nephews.
It was requested by the family for cremation to be held. A "Celebration of Life" service will be held for Jeri at a later date. Interment will be held in Castalia Cemetery, Castalia, OH.
The family suggests that memorials may be made in her name to any sort of Kids Activity Fund of your choice.
Arrangements are entrusted to the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.
