Gerald B. "Jerry" Brownell, 78, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon, October 10, 2020, at his home with family by his side.
Born on November 11, 1941, in Sandusky, OH the son of Bert and Lillian Barbara (Liphart) Brownell. Jerry worked at New Departure-Hyatt Inc. (a Division of General Motors) for nearly 25 years, retiring in 1993.
He will be remembered by his family for his love of the Lake and as an owner of several boats; how he enjoyed living on the waters of Lake Erie.
Jerry was a member of the Sandusky Eagles Aerie # 444.
He is survived by two sons Jerry Lee (Kim) Brownell of Wadsworth, OH and Jeff Brownell of Parma; a grandson, Jerry Wayne "J.W." Brownell; and several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Diane (Buddy) Games of Sandusky and Sharon Roth of Huron; a brother, Ronald (Barbara) Brownell of Sandusky; and many nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, two in infancy, and a half-brother, Eugene Liphart.
Visitation will be held Wednesday morning, October 14, 2020, from 9 am until time of the funeral services at 11 am at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Due to the COVID-19 health concerns, wearing of face masks (they will be offered) and social distancing will be mandatory.
