Gary W. Gangluff Obituary

Gary Wayne Gangluff, 72, of Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2026, at UH Cleveland Medical Center, in Cleveland, OH.

Gary was born in Sandusky, Ohio, to the late Clayton and Marie Gangluff. He graduated from Sandusky High School in 1971 and immediately began his career at Lorain Ford Motor Company, where he worked until his retirement in 2003. Following retirement, Gary remained active in the workforce, holding positions at Sandusky Athol International, Kohl’s, and Bowling Green State University–Firelands Campus.

A man of strong faith and sound character, Gary was a lifelong, devoted member of Zion Lutheran Church. He faithfully served the church in many capacities, including various boards and several terms on the church council. His faith guided his life and the way he treated others.

Gary found his greatest joy in his family. He was a dedicated father who coached baseball and softball for his children’s teams, and a proud grandfather who loved cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events. He enjoyed fishing, could fix just about anything, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Clayton and Marie Gangluff; his brother, Ted (Sandi) Gangluff; his sister, Nancy Arnold; and his beloved cocker spaniel, Onyx.

He is survived by his love, Cindy Neiding; his son, Derek (Abbey Swanson) Gangluff of Sandusky; and his daughter, Jennifer (Chris) Clark of Galloway, Ohio. He is also survived by his four grandsons—Charlie (14) and Henry (10) Clark, and Ari (10) and Bear (6) Gangluff—who brought him great pride and happiness.

Private services were held with the immediate family. A memorial celebration will be announced at a later date. No memorial contributions are requested.

Arrangements are entrusted to the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, OH.
