Garland E. "Gary" Fisher, 76, of Sandusky, passed away early Monday evening, May 10, 2021, at Magruder Hospital, in Port Clinton, OH.
Born on March 17, 1945, in Paris, Kentucky, the son of Stanley and Mary (Davis) Fisher. He had attended Perkins High School. Gary had worked at the Ohio Veterans Home for over 20 years, before retiring. After retiring, he went on to work at Rail Logistics for a few years. Gary was a fan of the Cleveland Browns and had also, over the years, loved watching old westerns.
He is survived by five sons; Wayne Fisher of Cleveland, Robert (Christina) Fisher of Sandusky, James (Shari) Fisher of Sandusky, Michael (Wendy Flores) Fisher of Fremont and Gary Fisher of Sandusky; his daughter, Elizabeth (Dan) Burmeister of Marblehead; three grandchildren, Corey, Lily and Alexis Fisher; a brother, Robert D. Fisher of Sandusky; his sister-in-law, Martha Pitcher of Sandusky; and several nieces and nephews.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife of 38 years, Nancy L. (Helget) Fisher on February 12, 2003.
Visitation will be held on Monday morning, May 17, 2021, from 10 am until 12 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Due to the COVID-19 health concerns, the wearing of face masks (they will be offered) and social distancing will be mandatory. If you are uneasy about attending, please feel free to leave a message to the family on our website. A funeral service will then be held at 12:30 pm at the Meadow Green Memorial Park Chapel, 2602 E. Bogart Road, Huron, OH. Rev. Wally Gilbert officiating. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park.
