Freda Helen (Steffenhagen) Myers

Freda H. (Steffenhagen) Myers, 91, of Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly at her home late Monday morning, March 23, 2020.
   Born on August 1, 1928, in Sandusky, OH the daughter of Paul Herman and Josephine (Catri) Steffenhagen.  She was a 1946 graduate of Sandusky High School.  Freda had worked for the Norfolk & Western Railroad, later known as the Norfolk Southern Railway for nearly 40 years, retiring in 1989.  Her family will remember her for how she loved working with arts and crafts.  She also enjoyed watching game shows and was a true die hard Cleveland Indians, Cavaliers and the Browns sports fan.
   Freda was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church and formerly a member of the I.A.B. Ladies Auxiliary.
   She is survived by her daughter, Lorraine "Lori" Myers; four grandchildren, Daniel Lehrer, Julie Maria Myers, Hannah Lehrer and Sarah Josephine Myers; four great-grandchildren, Logan Bradley Chavarria, Auden, Brooks and Linlee Lehrer; and many nieces and nephews.
   Freda was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Julie A. Myers (2013); two sons, James D. "Jim" Myers (2017) and William P. "Bill" Myers (2020); her former husband, James D. Myers; two sisters, Dorothy Amelia Swan and Edith Biechele; and two brothers, Paul Herman "Bud" Steffenhagen and Kenneth Gene Steffenhagen.
   It was her wish to be cremated.  No visitation to be held and the family will hold private family services at a later date.  Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
   The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to Cancer Services of Erie County, 505 E. Perkins Avenue, Sandusky, OH 44870.
