Frank Richard “Dick” Rossi, 88, of Sandusky, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 24, 2021, at Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky. Dick was born on September 21, 1933, in Sandusky, to Frank and Laura (Scagnetti) Rossi.
He was a 1951 graduate of Sandusky High School and later graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Toledo in 1960.
He was also a veteran who served his country honorably in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
For over 20 years, Dick worked in various financial positions for Cook’s Food Service (formerly Grill Meats), retiring in 1990. He had previously worked for Monroeville Oil Company and Cedar Point.
For several years, Dick volunteered as treasurer of his condo association and did accounting and tax work for numerous friends and local businesses. He was previously President and Secretary/Treasurer for the Sandusky Area Accounting Association.
Dick was a kind and good man, a fine gentleman, and a wonderful family man, who touched all with his big heart, warm smile, and his delightful sense of humor.
He was an avid sports fan who loved to watch the Cleveland Guardians (Indians), the Cleveland Browns, and numerous college football teams (except Michigan!). Dick also enjoyed playing golf.
He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Huron, the American Legion Post #17, the Sandusky Orioles Club Nest #279, and the Italian-American Beneficial Club in Sandusky.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Nancy J. (Currier) Rossi, Sandusky, OH; his children, Michael Rossi of Auburn Hills, MI, Mark (Karen) Rossi of Pickerington, OH, Bradley (Jeanne) Rossi of Zionsville, IN, and Chrisanne (Richard) McNeil of Hudson, MI; seven grandchildren, Morgan and Madelynn McNeil, Laura (Brad) Rossi, Brian (Kayla) Rossi, Brendan Rossi, Dominic and Margaret Rossi; three great-grandchildren.
His step-children include Dan (Josie) Angelo of Sandusky, OH and DeAnn (Joe) McKillips of Norwalk, OH; step-grandchildren Joshua (Nathania) Johnson, Emily McKillips, Celia (Michael) Carbo, Katy Angelo, Christian (Shelby) Angelo; four step-great-grandchildren.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved first wife, Margaret “Peggy” (Eberly) Rossi with whom he raised his four children until her death in 1986.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 from 10:00 AM until time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Peter Catholic Church, 430 Main Street, Huron, OH, Fr. Jeff McBeth officiating. Burial following the service at Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
