Floyd L. Righi, 87, of Huron, OH passed away early Tuesday morning, September 23, 2025, at his home surrounded by his wife and his children.
Born on October 14, 1937, on Kelleys Island the son of Louis and Josephine (Lombardi) Righi. He was a 1956 graduate of Sandusky High School. Floyd was a veteran having served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corp. having been stationed in Okinawa, Japan. He was a well known entrepreneur having owned several businesses in the local area for many years.
Floyd loved spending time with the family and the grandchildren, but he will be especially remembered for how he enjoyed riding his motorcycles, going fishing, wintering in Florida with his wife and cheering for the Green Bay Packers.
He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, the American Legion Post # 83 Color Guard, the V.F.W. Post # 2529 and the Sandusky Orioles Club Nest # 279.
Floyd is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary G. (Franchetti) Righi, whom he married on January 9, 1960; his family, Debbe (Kevin) Fischbach of Grafton, Mark (Jane) Righi of Sandusky, and Dena (Charlie) McKillips of Sandusky; his six grandchildren and four step- grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Delores (Harry) Perdue, Sr. and Helen (Dean) Scheel, both of Sandusky; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Floyd was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Edith "Eda" Righi, two sisters in infancy, Ida and Darlene Righi; and three brothers, Guerino "Gene" Righi, Paschal "Pat" Righi and Mario Righi.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, from 4-7 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Floyd on Saturday morning, September 27, 2025, at 10 am at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post # 83 and the V.F.W. Post # 2529. It was his wish to be cremated following the services. Interment will take place at a later date in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron, OH.
