Ernesto "Ernie" Guerra, 57, of Port Clinton, OH passed away peacefully early Thursday evening, April 21, 2022, with his family at his side after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Born in Port Clinton, OH on June 22, 1964, the son of Fortino and Juanita (Reyna) Guerra, Sr.. He was a 1982 graduate of Port Clinton High School.
Ernie loved singing karaoke at local establishments but he also enjoyed playing his guitar and singing at family party’s. His family will miss his big smile and hearing him sing his favorite song, La Bamba". He enjoyed fishing, painting and writing music. Ernie was a fierce competitor in Ottawa county billiards league where he played for nearly 35 years. His friends and family will miss his enthusiasm for life and his original style, he was definitely one-of-kind and will be dearly missed by all. What he loved most was spending time with his family. Rarely a day went by that he didn’t call, text or visit with his family. And he will be remembered by his family for how he always had a smile for everyone he came in touch with. He had a HUGE HEART! and was loved by everyone.
Ernie is survived by his son, Cory (Maleh Schwesing) Guerra; his eight brothers, Fortino Guerra, Jr., Artemio (Pauline) Guerra, Mario (Alicia) Guerra, Tony (Judy) Guerra, Alejandro (Jill) Guerra, Armando Guerra, Rene Guerra, and Forlando Guerra; his two sisters, Marilanda Guerra and Belinda (John) Heller; and by his many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Rogelio Guerra and Orlando "Casper" Guerra; and his twin sisters, Armelia Guerra and Armelia Guerra.
It was his wish to be cremated. Private family services to be held.
Arrangements are entrusted to the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.
