Erica C. (Smith) Pringle, 86, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully early Saturday afternoon, July 20, 2019, at her daughter's home.
Born on November 19, 1932, in Kimball, OH the daughter of Fred and Helen (Deutschbein) Smith. She was a 1950 graduate of Milan High School. For many years, she had worked at the Fanny Farmer Shop and later at Cook's Department Store, before retiring. She truly loved her family.
Erica was a member of the Sand Hill Methodist Church, the Ohio Grandmothers Club and the Clyde Rosette. Also over the years, she had been quite active in the Grange, having been a member of the National, the Margaretta and the Pomona Grange.
She is survived by two daughters, Anna Louise (Pringle) Montgomery of Hillard and Shirley (Pringle) Trizna-Bloxson of Sandusky; two sons, Stanley Pringle of Sandusky and Randy (Lynn) Pringle of Bellevue; nine grandchildren, Ralph (Susan) Trizna, Kenneth Bloxson, Pauline (Donald) Powell, Sherlene Kahawa, Jamie Kelly, Leno (Nicole) Kelly, Shannon (Ken) Langer, Erin (Andy) Edwards and Daniel Fee; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Evelyn Mills of Columbus, OH.
Erica was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 62 years, Ralph E. Pringle (2015); a daughter, Lois Helen (Pringle) Fee; a son, Richard E. Pringle; two grandsons, Roger Allan Pringle and Gerome Fee; two brothers, Rudy G. and Fred Smith; and a half-brother, Alfred Smith.
It was her wishes to be cremated. A graveside service will be held on Friday morning, July 26, 2019, at 11 am at Sand Hill Cemetery, Mason Road, Sandusky. Rev. David T. Clarke officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the Groton Township Fire Department, 9414 Portland Road, Castalia, OH 44824 or to Stein Hospice Service, Inc., 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
