Elton C. Baum, 83, of Castalia, passed away late Saturday afternoon, June 13, 2020, at the Providence Care Center, Sandusky.
Born on April 6, 1937, in Sandusky, the son of Emerson Clarence and Helen Catherine (Frederick) Baum. Elton was a graduate of Margaretta High School. He was a veteran having served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. For most of his life he had been a farmer and after he retired he had worked in security at the Cedar Point Amusement Park. Elton was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
He is survived by his brother, Donald (Phyllis) Baum of Castalia; three stepchildren, Ed, Susan and Michael; step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Elton was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Patricia S. (Snowden) Baum; his sister, Marilyn Didion; and two brothers, Wayne and Richard Baum.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday morning, June 17, 2020, at 10 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Avenue, Sandusky. Following the Mass, it was his wish to be cremated. Burial will take place at a later date in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his memory to St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Avenue, Sandusky, OH 44870 or to Stein Hospice Service, Inc., 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
