Elizabeth J. (Trautman) Laws

 Elizabeth J. "Betty" (Trautman) Laws, 100, of Sandusky, passed away Saturday afternoon, August 7, 2021, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky.
   Born on June 3, 1921, in Sandusky, OH the daughter of Howard Dennis and Verna Marie (Francis) Trautman, Sr..   Betty was a graduate of Margaretta High School.  She had worked at New Departure Hyatt Inc. (a Division of General Motors) for nearly 30 years, before retiring.  She will be remembered by her family for how she loved to play the lottery tickets and put on a good party at her home to spend time with her family and friends.
   She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church where she had been involved, in years past, with the bereavement committee, a member of the U.A.W. Local # 913, a life member of the V.F.W. Post # 2529 Ladies Auxiliary, a member of the American Legion Post # 83 Ladies Auxiliary, the AMVETS Post # 17 ladies Auxiliary, and a former member of the Sandusky Eagles Aerie # 444.
   Betty is survived by her family, Ronald G. (Paula) Laws of Sandusky, Beverly (Donald) Knupke of Sandusky, Dennis (Linda) Laws of Scottsdale, AZ and Gary (Shelley) Laws of Colorado Springs, CO; 13 grandchildren, Shelley, Ronald, Robert, Jeffrey, Kimberlee, Matthew, Kelly, Karri, Kristy, Ann, Lindsay, Stephanie and Heather; many great-grandchildren; and a couple of great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Wobser and Patricia Neil; two brothers, Robert (Agnes) Trautman and Frank (Patti Dubois) Trautman, all of Sandusky; and many nieces and nephews.
   She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 57 years, George A. Laws (1997); a great-grandson, Dylan J.Sharkey (1994); her daughter-in-law, Barbara A. “Barb” Laws (2017); two sisters, Mary Baker and Shirley Podgurski; and her four brothers, Clifford, Howard, Jr., and her twin brothers, Victor and Vincent Trautman.
   Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, from 4-6 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.  Prayers will be recited Thursday morning, August 12, 2021, at 9:30 am at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 428 Tiffin Avenue, Sandusky.  Fr. Zack Brown officiating.  Entombment will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park Mausoleum, Huron, OH.
