Edris Lail (Flowers) Kotz

  Edris L. "Edie" (Flowers) Kotz, 85, of Huron, passed away peacefully early Wednesday evening, April 21, 2021, with family at her side at University Hospitals of Cleveland, after a lengthy illness.
   Born on March 6, 1936, in Akron, OH the daughter of William Arthur and Louise Elsie (Deleone) Flowers.  She was a 1954 graduate of Sandusky High School.  Edie had worked at Ohio Edison in quality control before going on to work for the Sandusky Public School, as a cafeteria manager, first at Sandusky High School, but mostly at Mills School, where she had worked for over 20 years, before retiring.  At the same time, she had worked at the Thunderbird Golf Course,  having taught beginning golf and golf etiquette.  She loved playing golf and bowling over the years.  Edie also found great joy on being on the lake and going out fishing.  
   She was a member of St. Stephen United Church of Christ and the Sandusky High School Alumni.
   Edie is survived by her husband of 66 years, Richard D. "Dick" Kotz, Sr.; her daughter, Dena (Tom Fresch) Kotz of Lorain; her son, Richard "Dean" Kotz, Jr. of Bellevue; eight grandchildren, Bob (Anna) Kotz, Jessie (Cody Weiss) Pribanic, Athena (Travis Smith) Pribanic, Paige (Shane Parks) Bragg, Sydney (Kyle Harman) Bragg, Josh (Tara) Pribanic, J. Michael (Mallory) Newman and Nikki (Brandon) Landrum; eight great-grandchildren, Brendon, Triston, Jaida, Aedon, Ares, Nash, Madeline and Kennedy;  and nieces and nephews.
   She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughters, Deanna L. "Dee" Kotz and Deborah Pribanic; her sister, Mary Kay Deleone; and two brothers, Jack  Deleone and Jerry Flowers.  
   It was her wish to be cremated.  The family will receive friends on Friday, April 30, 2021 from 4-8 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky and on Saturday afternoon, May 1, 2021, from 2 pm until time of the memorial service at 3 pm at St. Stephen United church of Christ, 905 E. Perkins Avenue, Sandusky.  Rev. Jerald A. Fenske officiating. Due to the COVID-19 health concerns, the wearing of face masks (they will be offered) and social distancing will be mandatory.  If you are uneasy about attending, please feel free to leave a message to the family on our website.  Interment will be held at a later date in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron, OH.
