Douglas Wayne Root

Douglas Wayne Root was born on June 21, 1970 in Delaware, OH to David Allen Root and Sandra Lynn (Wolfe) Root.  He passed away peacefully on October 4, 2024, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer.  Doug graduated from Olentangy High School and went on to attend classes at The Ohio State University.

Doug had a great passion for arts and entertainment as he participated in band, show choir and theater throughout high school and beyond.  He had an equal passion for culinary excellence as evident from his 30+ years in the restaurant service industry, often with high-end establishments and closely following esteemed restauranteurs.

Doug was preceded in death by his mother Sandra, his father David, his brother Michael, and his brother Bradley.  He is survived by his siblings Aaron, Reggie Dewitt, Debbie Dinan, and countless aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. 

There will be a Celebration of Life on Friday, October 18, 2024, at 11:30 am at Liberty Presbyterian Church, 7080 Olentangy River Rd., Delaware, OH 43015
