Dorothy Phyllis (Cantelli) Winters

Dorothy P. (Cantelli) Winters, 93, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully early Friday evening, December 18, 2020, at the Providence Care Center, Sandusky after a lengthy illness. 
   Born on September 14, 1927, in Sandusky, OH the daughter of Quinto and Philomena (Vanucci) Cantelli .  She was a graduate of Sandusky High School.  Dorothy had worked at New Departure-Hyatt Inc. (a Division of General Motors) for 35 years, before retiring.   Over the years, she had been an avid bowler and had enjoyed gardening, but she especially loved spending time with her family.
   Dorothy was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the Italian-American Beneficial Club Ladies Auxiliary. 
   She is survived by a son, Thomas (Sandy) Winters of Sandusky; four grandchildren, Bradley A.,  Anthony M., Amanda L., and Malyssa A. (Pete) Doyle; two great-granddaughters, Maddie Batchelor and Kacey M. Winters; her sister, Anita J. Cantelli; sister-in-law, Adriana Cantelli; and nieces and nephews.
   Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 49 years, Thomas T. Winters on August 8, 2004; two brothers, Ray and Paul Cantelli; and her four sisters, Sally Fantuz, Natalie Leffler, Rose Chioramonte, and Mary Macove. 
   Visitation will be held on Monday afternoon, December 28, 2020, from 4-6 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.  Due to the COVID-19 health concerns, wearing of masks (they will be offered) and social distancing will be mandatory.  If you are uneasy about attending, please feel free to leave a message to the family on our website.  Prayers will be recited Tuesday morning, December 29, 2020, at 9:40 am at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.  Fr. Chris Jesudhason officiating.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
