Donald Duston II Obituary

Donald W. "Bug Eyes" Duston, II, 69, of Republic, OH went home to be with the Lord early Saturday morning, November 29, 2025, at his home.

Born on September 11, 1956, in Sandusky, OH the son of Donald Wilbur and Mary Alice (Welser) Duston, I.  He was a graduate of Sandusky High School. Donald had worked at New Departure-Hyatt Inc. ( a Division of General Motors) for over 30 years, before retiring.  After retiring, he went on work at Lowe's for 15 years.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, but he will be remembered by his family mostly for how he loved the water and how he had grown up on the lake.  He also had owned and operated, or you could say he captained, many of his boats over the years.  Donald also loved collecting and running his model trains, and listening to his Rock music, especially Pink Floyd  (LOUDLY).

He was a longtime member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and after retiring and moving to Republic, OH he became a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, in Attica, OH.  Donald was also a member of the U.A.W. Local #913.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Cindy J. (Wharton) Duston whom he married on June 13, 1980; his family, Jeff Duston, Donald L. "Donnie" (Samia) Duston, Jeremy (Michelle) Duston, Joseph (Jess) Duston, Timothy (Chris) Duston, and Cynthia (Dustin) Duston; 18 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; a sister, Debbie Crawford; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Alex Duston; 2 sisters, Diana Holcomb and Donna Miller; and a niece Kelley Holcomb.

Visitation will be held on Thursday morning, December 4, 2025, from 8:30 am until 9:40 am at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, OH.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, OH.  Fr. Prashanth Kumar officiating.  It was his wish to be cremated following the services.

The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in his memory to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942; the Wyandot County Equine Rescue, 4660 SR 199, Carey, OH 43316 or to one's favorite charity.
