Donald C. Crouch, 83, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, October 27, 2018, at Admiral's Point Nursing and Rehabilitation, in Huron, OH.
Born on June 17, 1935, in Sandusky, OH the son of Carl Lester and Colette Anna (Tremper) Crouch. He was a 1954 graduate of St. Mary's High School. Don was a veteran, having served honorably in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. For many years, he had worked in sales at the O. E. Meyer Company, retiring in 1998. Also, Don had been a professional photographer and upholsterer. Over the years, he enjoyed, boating, camping and biking. He will be remembered for the many hours that he had volunteered, and had been honored for, at the Ohio Veterans Home, to help his fellow veterans, especially for the Bike Club.
He is survived by his family, Jeannie (Kent) Hunt of Fredonia, AZ, Carolyn Mitchell of Sandusky, Jeffrey (Vickie) Crouch of St. George, UT, Denise (David) Schwanger of Sandusky, Frances (Henry) Hess of Milan and Molly (Jeff) Alderman of Castalia; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Nancy McGuire of Charlotte, NC; a brother, Charles (Carole) Crouch of Castalia; and several nieces and a nephew.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 52 years, whom he married on October 6, 1956, Marcia Ann (Bachman) Crouch (September 2, 2009); a daughter, Kathleen L. Crouch (1969); a son, Andrew J. Crouch (1991); and three sisters, Colette Crouch, Celine Lambright and Marjorie Crouch.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, from 9 am until time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Avenue, Sandusky. Fr. Matt Frisbee officiating. A luncheon will be held following the Mass in the Commons. It was Don's wishes to be cremated following the services. Burial will be held later in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky. Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #83 Color Guard. The family would like to offer a special thank you to the Heartland Hospice for the care they had given to their father during this difficult time.
