Dennis Lehner Obituary


Dennis L. "Papa" Lehner, 78, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully late Friday evening, December 11, 2020, surrounded by his family at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky. 
   Born on December 5, 1942, in Sandusky, OH the son of Theodore F. and Lois Edith (Wieber) Lehner.  He was a 1960 graduate of Margaretta High School.  Dennis had worked as an agent for the Western & Southern Life Insurance Company for 15 years, before retiring. Over the years , Dennis enjoyed going fishing and he had been active and involved with the Prayer Path in Huron.  Dennis had also been involved with "Foundations for Living" a program affiliated with Crossroads in helping mentor those in need of help to prepare them for daily activities in life . 
   Dennis was a member of Christ Episcopal Church and a longtime member of the Christian Business Men Committee and treasurer.
   He is survived by his family, Crystal (Michael) Gallino of Temecula, CA, James (Diane) Lehner of Sandusky, Billie (Darrel) Ingraham of Castalia, April (Patrick) Ertle of Catawba Island, Terry Lehner, Brooklynn Lehner of Winter Park, FL and Dennis Levi Lehner of Sessexville, MI; 8 grandchildren, Austin, Arianna, Kendra, Isaiah, Skylar, Lauren, Audrey and Liam; and nieces and nephews.
   Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Debra J. (Frankart) Lehner on January 5, 2014; his sister and brother-in-law, Sharon S. (Ralph, Sr.) Cruz (2018); and his step-father, Bradley Olds.
   It was his wish to be cremated. Private family services to be held.  Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
   The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Christ Episcopal Church, 120 Ohio Street, Huron, OH 44839. 
   Arrangements are entrusted to the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.
