Deanna Jane (Boulis) Streng

Deanna J. "Dee" (Boulis) Streng, 84, of Sandusky,  unexpectedly passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, November 20, 2022, at The Bellevue Hospital, in Bellevue, OH.
   Born on November 8, 1938, in Findlay, OH the daughter of Donald "Don" Wilson  and Ruth Namoi (Sands) Boulis.  She was a 1956 graduate of Sandusky High School and later received her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Bowling Green State University.   For over 40 years she had taught in the Sandusky Public Schools as a 3rd grade teacher , mostly at the Madison Elementary School and for awhile at Osborne Elementary School, before retiring in  1999.  After retiring, she enjoyed traveling with her husband, Al, but she especially loved being a mother and grandmother.
   In her younger days, she had been a member of the First Christian Church (downtown on Hayes Avenue) where she had played the piano and the organ and she was also married there.  She and her husband later joined Zion Lutheran Church, in Sandusky.
   Dee is survived by her husband of 60 years, Alfred F. Streng, whom she married on June 22, 1962; a son, Scott  A. (Denise R.) Streng of Troy, OH;  her two grandchildren, Maria A. and Andrew J. Streng: a brother, Duane (Della) Boulis of Huron; sister-in-law, Helen Boulis of W. Columbia, Texas; and her nieces and nephews.
   She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Richard Boulis; sister-in-law, Karen Boulis; and a brother-in-law, Mike Streng.
   Visitation will be held on Friday afternoon, November 25, 2022, from 3-5 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.  A funeral service will be held Saturday morning, November 26, 2022, at 11 am at the funeral home..  Deacon Carolyn Steinfeldt of Zion Lutheran Church officiating.  Entombment will be held in the Oakland Cemetery Mausoleum, in Sandusky. 
   The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Stein Hospice Service, Inc., 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870 or to one's favorite charity..
