Christine Ann (Fischer) Berkey

Christine A. "Chris" (Fischer) Berkey, 72, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully early Sunday afternoon, May 31, 2020, at the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
  Born on February 10, 1948, in Sandusky, OH the daughter of John Schafman and Catherine Mary (Federkiel) Fischer.  She was a 1966 graduate of Sandusky High School.  Prior to being married, she had worked at Pic-in-Pay before she became a homemaker and raised her family.  Over the years, she enjoyed reading and spending time with the family.
  Chris was a member of the VFW Post #2529 and the American Legion Post #83 Ladies Auxiliary.
  She is survived by two daughters, Kay Cee (Mark Myers) Berkey of Sandusky and  Lynnette (Ronald) Gilbert of Huron; four grandchildren, Benjamin and Tara Myers, Loretta and Veronica Gilbert; a sister, Susan (Bill) Patterson of Sandusky; her three brothers, Theodore "Ted" Fischer of Austin, TX, John "Jack " Fischer of Castalia and James (Connie) Fischer of Sandusky; and her nieces and nephews.
  Chris was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 42 years, Kenneth E. Berkey (on September 21, 2011); a granddaughter, Camile Myers; and three sisters, Virginia Sherwood, Eileen Lavey and Mary Ann Taylor.
  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2020, from 5-7 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.  Due to the coronavirus health concerns, wearing of masks and social spacing will be recommended.  If you're uneasy about attending please leave a message to the family on the website.
  A graveside service will be held Thursday morning, June 4, 2020, at 11 am at the Chapel at Meadow Green Cemetery 2700 E. Bogart Road, Huron.  Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, 2602 E. Bogart Road, Huron, OH.
