Cheryl K. (Meggitt) Meyers, 79, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully late Wednesday evening, June 19, 2024, with family at her side at Firelands Reginal Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky.
Born on March 4, 1945, in Castalia, OH the daughter of Franklin Chaplin and Elsie (Brown) Meggitt. She was a 1963 graduate of Margaretta High School. Cheryl had been a bar manager for many years at the Brown Derby Restaurant and also at the Barone Beer Barrel, before retiring.
She will be remembered by her family for how she loved traveling, especially where the sun may be, spending time in the sun and sunbathing. Cheryl had been a member of the Sandusky Athletic Club.
She is survived by a daughter, Cari Voegeli of Ft. Wayne, IN; her five grandchildren, Casey Voegeli and Chadwyck (Anna) Voegeli, both of Ft. Wayne, IN, Matthew McNally of Sandusky, Mason McNally of Pompano Beach, FL and Ashley Wick; her two great-grandchildren; her life partner of 20 years, Don Ohlemacher and his son, Ben Ohlemacher, both of Sandusky; a sister, Judy Sickenger of Norwalk; her brother, Richard "Dick" Meggitt of Norwalk; her caregiver, Shelly Ackerman Ditz of Sandusky; and her many nieces and nephews.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Shannon J. McNally; and her seven brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held on Sunday afternoon, June 23, 2024, from 2-4 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Funeral services will be held Monday morning, June 24, 2024, at 11 am at the funeral home. Rev. Wally Gilbert officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Humane Society of Erie County, 1911 Superior Street, Sandusky, OH 44870.
