Charles Pfefferkorn Obituary

Charles C. "Chris" Pfefferkorn, 76, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, May 2, 2021, at The Meadows at Osborn Park, In Huron, OH , after a  lengthy struggle with Parkinson's. 
   Born on June 3, 1944, in Sandusky, OH the son of Willard F. and Ida Mae ( Nielsen) Pfefferkorn.  He was a 1963 graduate of Perkins High School.  Chris had worked for 33 years, retiring in 2005, from Delphi ( a Division of General Motors).   The family was very important to him as he enjoyed spending time with them and his many grandchildren.  Over the years, he been an avid train collector, but he will be remembered by his family mostly for his passion for cars, as he and his wife, Sue, were members of the Car Clubs,  "Remember Cruising" and Car Coddlers for many years.  He also loved to mow his grass around the yard.      
   Chris is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sue A. (Ohlemacher) Pfefferkorn; his three daughters, Amy L. Crouch of Sandusky, Julie A. (Robert) Gau of W. Palm Beach, FL and Jody S. Ach of Huron; his 13 grandchildren,  Matthew (Lisa) Crouch, Joshua (Dana) Crouch, Christopher (Mallory) Smith, Alyse (her fiance', Alex Storm) Zavala, Alexa Brummett, Aaron (Abbey) Brummett, Ajay Brummett, Tyler Zavala, Tabitha Zavala, Garrett Cole, David (Amanda) Gau, Michael (Abbey) Gau and Jennifer Gau;  11 great-grandchildren, Brycen Resor, Hailee Crouch, Seth Crouch, Skyler Timbs, Aiden Tuttle, Kylie Reitz, Alaina Brummett, Juniper Thompson, Rowan Gau, Everly Gau and Oliver Smith; his sister, Marilyn Mingione of Mesa, AZ; his daughter-in-law, Heidi Zavala of Milan, OH; and his very special and dear friends, Bob and Linda Beaudin, JoAnn (and her late husband, John)  Snoble,  Dave and Sue Weiland and Sandy (and her late husband, Rodger) Best..
   He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Jeremy J. Zavala.
   Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 6, 2021, from 11 am until time of the funeral services at 1 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, OH.  Pastor Wally Gilbert officiating.  Due to the COVID-19 health concerns, the wearing of face masks (they will be offered) and social distancing will be mandatory. If you are uneasy about attending, please feel free to leave a message to the family on our website.  Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
