Charles E. "Charlie" Heck, 73, of Catawba Island, OH, passed away peacefully early Sunday evening, July 21, 2019, surrounded by his family in the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
Born on April 3, 1946, in Manchester, CT, the son of Robert Louis and Evelyn (Spencer) Heck. Charlie was a 1964 graduate of Manchester High School and later attended Norwich University in Northfield, VT. He was a veteran having served honorably in the U.S. Army.
Charlie went on and did his apprenticeship at Pratt & Whitney Machine Tool (Division of Colt Industries) in W. Hartford, CT. He had worked in sales for many years for Pratt & Whitney Machine Tool and later for the Warner & Swasey Company and for the John Allen Company, both in Cleveland, OH, before retiring. Charlie was a true car enthusiast. He loved his cars, his boats, but he especially loved his family.
Charlie is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marcia A. (Graf) Heck; two sons, Kevin C. (Karen) Heck of Rocky River and Keith C. (Staci) Heck of Medina; and
4 grandchildren, Morgan, Cole, Gavin and Megan.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
It was Charlie's wish to be cremated. Family and friends are invited to a "Celebration of Charlie's Life" to be held at Catawba Inn Pub, 4112 N. Crogan Street, Port Clinton, Ohio, on August 11, 2019 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm.
The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in his memory to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Donor Services, P.O. Box 98018, Washington, DC 20090-8018.
