Carolyn E. (Frederick) Kaman, 82, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, June 4, 2022, in the Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
Born on October 26, 1939, in Bellevue, OH the daughter of Herman Victor and Thelma Ruth (Porter) Frederick. Carolyn was a 1958 graduate of St. Mary's High School and as a member of the Class of 1958 she, with other classmates, would regularly meet downtown at the Jackson Street Pier to socialize. In her younger days she had worked as a cashier in different stores in the Port Clinton area. After raising her family, she had worked at a Gift Shop at the Cedar Point Amusement Park, Furry School and later at Providence Hospital for several years as a patient escort, before retiring.
Over the years, Carolyn enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, taking walks in the outdoors and visiting the family Camp in Pennsylvania, PA, which she would fondly refer to as "Woodsedge."
Carolyn is survived by two sons, Thomas R. Kaman, Jr. of Huron, Timothy D. Kaman of Sandusky; and her daughter, Connie T. Kaman of Sandusky; her two grandchildren, Kimberly A, and Kyle V. Kaman; her three great-grandchildren, Aeden, Coen and Jacob; three sisters, Ruth Stetson of CT, Jean Frederick of Norwalk, OH and Susan Gockchalk of FL; her brother, David (Linda) Frederick of Put-in-Bay, OH; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, James "Jim" and Dick Frederick; a niece, Kathy "Taffy" Stetson; and the father of her children, Thomas R. Kaman, Sr.
It was her wish to be cremated. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for her on Friday morning, June 10, 2022 at 10 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Avenue, Sandusky. Fr. Monte Hoyles officiating. Burial will be in Sand Hill Cemetery, Sandusky.
