Calvin W. Miller, 67, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully early Thursday evening, June 18, 2020, at his home after a lengthy battle with ALS.
Born on August 30, 1952, in Sandusky, OH the son of Cliff and Rosella (Riedy) Miller. He was a graduate of St. Mary's Catholic High School. Calvin was a veteran having served honorably in the Army National Guard. For nearly 25 years, he had worked as a activity therapist at the Ohio Veterans Home, retiring in 2015.
Over the years, Calvin loved going out fishing and working on his boat with hopes of someday it hitting the water. He also enjoyed cooking, but his true love was hitting the road and going on rides on his Harley Davidson motorcycle.
Calvin had recently been attending the New Life Church and Wayside Temple with his wife. For over 20 years he had been a member of the Calvary Temple Church. Calvin had also been a member of the American Legion Post # 83.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 46 years, Teresa (Brown) Miller, whom he married on June 22, 1974; his two sons, Curt (LaTonia) Miller of Palm Bay, FL and Chris (Kendall) Miller of Austin, TX; his five grandchildren, Carise, Nathan, Samuel, Simeon and Gabriel; and nieces and nephews.
Calvin was preceded in death by his parents; and his three brothers, Cliff, Chris and Craig Miller.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday morning, June 23, 2020, from 10 am until time of the funeral services at 12 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Due to the COVID-19 health concerns, wearing of masks (will be available at the funeral home) and social spacing will be recommended. Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post # 83 Color Guard.
