Bruce Salisbury, 77, of Castalia, passed away peacefully late Tuesday morning, June 1, 2021, at his home after a lengthy illness.
Born on September 2, 1943, in Hunter, Kentucky, the son of Leeman and Grace (Salisbury) Litton. He was a 1961 graduate of Sandusky High School and then received his Associates Degree from Terra Tech College. Bruce was a proud veteran, having served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corp., during the Vietnam War. He loved the Marine Corp. and telling stories about the his experiences while in the service. Over the years, he had worked for Ohio Edison as a lineman for 17 years and later went on to work at New Departure-Hyatt Inc. (a Division of General Motors) for nearly 20 years as an electrician. In his earlier days, he had been an avid golfer and he especially loved golfing at the Sleepy Hollow Golf Course over in Clyde.
Bruce is survived by his wife of 57 years, married on December 24, 1964, Linda D. (Thayer) Salisbury; his family, Kelly (Chris) Kelble of Castalia, Bruce M. (Dawn Fore) Salisbury of Sandusky and Leeanne (Dave) Foss of Rock Hill, SC; his 6 grandchildren, Matt (Bea), Nick (Hayley), Jessica (Korey), Keri (Nick), Julianna and Madison; his great-granddaughter, Kennedy; a sister, Sandra (Larry) Simmonds of NC; a brother, Jonny LaCourse of FL; and his buddy, "Honeybear."
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Norman Salisbury.
It was his wish to be cremated. No visitation or funeral services to be held. Burial will take place at a later date in the Sand Hill Cemetery, Sandusky.
The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the ProMedica Hospice, 430 S. Main Street, Clyde, OH 43410 or to ones favorite charity.
