Bertha Theresa (Palmison) Scheid

Bertha T. (Palmison) Scheid, 90, of Sandusky, entered the gates of Heaven early Friday afternoon, May 28, 2021, surrounded by family at her home.

Born on January 7, 1931, in Sandusky, the daughter of Anthony and Angeline (Leto) Palmison. She was a 1948 graduate of Sandusky High School. Bertha will always be remembered for her love of planting and tending to her flowers. She especially loved to cook, so much, that over the years she would plan parties just so she could cook and feed all those who attended. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren, and especially her husband, celebrating 67 years of marriage on May 15, 2021. Her greatest marriage advice: “Compromise, then do what you want!”

She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and a former member of the Italian-American Beneficial Club.

Bertha is survived by her loving husband, Clarence R. Scheid; her children, James Scheid, Diane (Roger) Andrews and Linda Devereaux; five grandchildren, Ashlee (David) Schwartz, Dan Sharpe, Chris Andrews, Stephanie (Stacy) Spencer and Lindsay (William) Broski; six great-grandchildren, Arianna Spencer, Cameron Sharpe, Abigail and Wes Broski, Leyton and Aiden Schwartz; her special niece and caregiver, Denise Warszawski; a sister, Rita (Robert) McLaughlin; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Charles Palmison.

At her request, funeral services will be private. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Stein Hospice Service, Inc., 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.

The Scheid family would like to offer their immense gratitude to Bertha's home health nurse, Brian Williams and the staff at Stein Hospice, Firelands Regional Medical Center, and the Perkins Fire Department for their care over the last few months.
