Avanelle (Gilmore) Alley, 82, of Clyde, Ohio went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday afternoon, May 26, 2018, at the Pickering House with family by her side.
She was born on June 29, 1935 in Ironton, Ohio to Mary Alice and David Gilmore. Her greatest pleasure was spending time with her family and supporting them in every way. She was an avid sports fan, loved to play cards and always had a good joke ready for family and friends.
Avanelle is survived by; her son Lewis Alley (Hawaii); daughter, Elizabeth (Alley) Brinson (Millersport); grandchildren Joshua (Amy) Alley (Bellevue), Matthew (Andrea) Alley (Bellevue), Eric (Shilo Tenbrook) Nickles (Clyde), Raven Brinson (Dallas, Tx), Daniel Alley (Sandusky); great-grandchildren, Alexis and Ethan Alley (Bellevue), Evan (Sampsel), Sierra, Maxwell and Cameron Alley (Bellevue), Chyanne, Mary and Kira Nickles (Danbury); great great grandson, Vladimir James Norman; and loving sister, Virginia Rosenberg (Charlotte, NC). In addition, Avanelle leaves behind, Nicki Crawford and Kim Ryan and many nieces and nephews she cherished and loved dearly.
Avanelle was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lewis Alley; her partner, Vernon Neilder; a daughter, Mary Melinda Alley; two sons, Mark Ellis Alley and Daniel Ray Alley; three brothers David, Lawrence and George Gilmor; and sisters Evelyn Dreshel and Marie Gilmore.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2018, from 4-6 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning, May 31, 2018, at 11 am at the funeral home. Rev. Kenneth Hiser officiating. Following the services, it was her wish to be cremated. Burial will take place at a later date in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
