Asberry "Berry" "Red" Stidham, 82, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, April 19, 2020, surrounded by his family at the Providence Care Center, Sandusky.
Born on May 7, 1937, in Leslie County, KY, the son of Joseph and Cora (Begley) Stidham. He had worked for 20 years at the Farrell-Cheek Steel Company and later retired from Akro-Mills, where he had worked for nearly 30 years.
Berry had been a member of the Sons of AMVETS Post # 17, Sons of the American Legion Post # 83, the Sandusky Eagles Aerie #444 and the Sandusky Orioles Club Nest #279.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sharon K. (Ryan) Stidham; his daughter, Kelli (Bryan) Jelinger of Temperance, MI; four sisters, Amanda "Ellen" Weedman, Nan Conrad, both of Sandusky, Madge Wohlgemuth and JoAnne (Bill) Howard, both of Krypton, KY; two sister-in-laws, Thelma Melton and Frances Stidham; and several nieces and nephews.
Berry was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, John, Roger "Pete" and Ferris Stidham; and other close in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Due to the current Coronavirus pandemic restrictions, the funeral services will be private. A "Celebration of Berry's Life" will be held by the family at a later date. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Sandusky.
The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in his memory to one's favorite charity.
