Antonina "Nina" (Oddo) Krause, 90, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning, January 9, 2024, with her family at her side at her home.
Born on August 26, 1933, in Milltello, Italy, the daughter of Antonino and Maria (Terrano) Oddo. Nina was a graduate of John Hay High School, in Cleveland, OH. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and her family will remember her for being a great cook and how she loved to entertain her family and friends. In years past, Nina had worked at the Philco Co. and later at The Red Barn for many years.
Nina was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, the Altar Rosary Society, the I.A. B. Ladies Auxiliary (past officer), the Club Amerital in Bellevue, the Christian Business Women Association (past officer) and a member of the Sandusky Yacht Club.
She is survived by her children, Rita (Jack) Baus, Frank A. (Liz) Krause, Mary (Daryel) Sternberg and Linda (Gus) Corso; four grandchildren, John Baus, Andrea (Tim) Halstead, Mariella (Ian) Ramlay and Giovanni (Jackie) Spadaro; and also Jordan, Melissa, Chad, Brad and Holly; her eleven great-grandchildren, John Michael, Addy, Alivia, Isabella "Izzy," Alaina, Milania, Gianna, Siena, Sal, Zoe and Sofia.
Nina was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 66 years, Francis "Frank" M. Krause (September 29, 2020): and two sisters, Mary (Oddo) Artino and Rosalie (Oddo) Sberna.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2024, from 3-6 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Prayers will be recited Monday morning, January 15, 2024, at 9:40 am at the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 am at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Deacon Phil Dinovo officiating. Entombment will be in the Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, Sandusky.
The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, OH 44870 or to the Stein Hospice Service, Inc., 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
