Anna Marie Fantozzi, 89, of Sandusky, Ohio, passed away peacefully Monday, January 19, 2026, at Admirals Pointe Nursing & Rehabilitation, Huron.
She was born on March 13, 1936, in Sandusky, Ohio, to the late Felice and Angelina (Mancini) Mariotti. She was a 1954 graduate of Sandusky High School and later worked at Western Security Bank. Anna was a devoted member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and the Sandusky High School Alumni Association, and a past member of the IAB Club.
Anna lived a long life filled with many blessings. As the years passed and the world changed, she remained a constant source of love and comfort. As a wife, mother, grandmother, Nonna, aunt, and friend, whoever Anna was to you, her love flowed freely and effortlessly. Through a simple phone call asking what you ate and if everything was alright, Anna had a special gift for making everyone feel deeply loved and cherished.
Anna’s passions were simple yet profound. She loved walking along the beach searching for sea glass and loved spending time at local farm stands. She found great joy in cooking for family and friends and could spend hours talking about recipes and meals shared. As an avid Ohio sports fan, she cheered passionately for her teams. She never missed General Hospital at 3 p.m., and her phone was always close by for frequent calls to check in on friends and family. Above all, Anna adored her grandchildren and their extended circle of friends, taking a genuine and heartfelt interest in each of their lives.
In addition to her parents, Anna was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Frank "Jerry" Fantozzi; her son, Jeff Fantozzi; and her sister, Nancy Mariotti.
She is survived by her daughter, Maria and Judge Tygh Tone of Huron; four grandchildren, Morgan and Harrison Tone, and Jerry and Jacob Fantozzi; her grandchildren’s beloved dogs; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Anna on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Sandusky, Ohio. Fr. Prashanth Kumar officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Sandusky, Ohio.
