Alice B. (Ramsey) Gregory Costantino, 77, of Sandusky, passed away late Sunday afternoon, February 23, 2020, under the care of Stein Hospice at the Concord Care Center of Sandusky after succumbing to a long battle with the Louie-Body disease.
Born on March 10, 1942, in St. Clair, Michigan, the daughter of Woodward Henry and Gertrude "Gertie" Frances (Madejewski) Ramsey. Alice was a 1959 graduate of Sandusky High School and a honorary member of the Lakeland High School in St. Clair Shores, MI. She had also attended Bowling Green State University.
Alice was known by many as "The Cake Lady," an honor bestowed upon her for the many years that she had baked cakes for graduation parties, weddings, family celebrations or any other special occasion that might arise and require a special cake. In 2004, she had retired from The Ohio Job and Family Services where she had worked for nearly 20 years as a social worker.
Besides baking cakes, she also enjoyed sewing, painting and wood sculpturing and had been involved in other clubs and activities over the years.
She was a member of St. Stephen United Church of Christ and had been on the Board of Christian Education at the church. Alice also had been a member of the Sandusky Sailing Club and the Sandusky Ski Club.
She is survived by her husband, Val J. Costantino; her two sons, Matthew W. (Julie) Gregory of Mount Holly, NC and D. Scott Gregory of Girard, OH; five grandchildren, Clark, Chase, Cole, Lilly and Laura; a sister, Rebecca (Bob) Kennedy; three brothers, Greg (Consue) Ramsey, Bob (Nora) Ramsey and Ted (Gladys) Ramsey; and several nieces and nephews.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Donald Gregory; and her sister, Valerie Pepitone.
Visitation will be held Saturday morning, February 29, 2020, from 9:30 am until time of the funeral services at 10:30 am at St. Stephen United Church of Christ, 905 E. Perkins Avenue, Sandusky. Rev. Jerald A. Fenske officiating. Burial will be in Scott Cemetery, in Huron, OH.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association, Northwest Ohio Chapter, 480 W. Dussel Drive, Maumee, OH 43537.
