Timothy Edward McGuire

Timothy E. "Mac" McGuire, 58, of Sandusky passed away early Thursday morning, October 19, 2017, at his home with family at his side after a courageous year long battle with cancer.
   Born on July 21, 1959, in Sandusky, OH the son of Paul Thomas and Patricia Ann (O'Gara) McGuire.  He was a 1978 graduate of Perkins High School having attended Ehove where he had learned Diesel Mechanics.  Over the years, he had worked at the Ford Motor Co, then at KBI, as a millwright,  and later for Hermes-Parker Concrete Ltd. as a diesel mechanic and vehicle repairman of heavy duty equipment.  Tim loved the outdoors, having enjoyed hunting, camping and going 4 wheeling.  He especially loved spending time with his family and the grandchildren.
   Tim is survived by his wife, Patty Kropf; his daughters, Jessica McGuire of Columbus and Kyrstin (Thomas) Birmingham of Sandusky; his son, Chad (Erika) McGuire of Sandusky; stepson, Chaz (Morgan) Herzog of Sandusky; six grandchildren, Cameron, Stella, Henry, Finn, Josie  and Blake; two sisters, Colleen (Janet Blair) McGuire and Kate McGuire, both of Texas; two brothers, Michael McGuire of Texas and Patrick McGuire of Sandusky; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.
   He was preceded in death by his parents.
   Visitation will be held on Monday, October 23, 2017, from 3-7 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.  Prayers will be recited Tuesday morning, October 24, 2017, at 9:30 am at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 428 Tiffin Avenue, Sandusky.  Fr. Joe Steinbauer officiating.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
   The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his memory to the University Hospital Seidman Cancer Center, 11100 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44106.
