Timothy Ward Brake

Timothy W. "Tim" Brake, Sr., 72, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully late Saturday evening, December 2, 2017, surrounded by his family at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky.
   Born on September 24, 1945, in Sandusky, OH the son of Ward Smith and Carol Virginia (Evans) Brake.  Tim was a graduate of Sandusky High School and had later attended Bowling Green State University.  He was a veteran having served honorably in the U.S. Air Force and had also served in the Ohio Military Reserve Police Unit.  Tim had worked at Sandusky Ford Motor Company for nearly 10 years, retiring in 2006.  For over 15 years he had been a manager in the AMVETS Little League and, in his earlier days, enjoyed going out fishing and bowling.
   Tim was a member of Calvary Temple and the AMVETS Post #17.
   He is survived by his family, Deborah Lynn Brake of Colorado Springs, CO, Paula Kay Demuth of Fremont, Timothy W. (Amy) Brake, Jr. of Clyde, Julie Ann (Wesley) Peters of Bellevue and Mark Allen Brake of Sandusky; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandson; three brothers, Paul Brake and Daniel (Cindy) Brake of Castalia, and John Brake of Clyde; a sister, Nan (Leo) Greenman of Sandusky; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
   Tim was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Joseph Brake.
   At his request, all services will be private.  Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.  Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #83 Color Guard.
   The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his name to one's favorite charity.
   Arrangements are entrusted to the David F. Koch Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.
