Rosemary A. Gerold, 85, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully early Friday afternoon, March 16,2018, surrounded by her family in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, Sandusky.
Born on May 13, 1932, in Bucyrus, OH the daughter of John and Mary (Melilli) Invacato. She was 1950 graduate of Bucyrus High School. Rosemary had worked at the Venice Heights Elementary School, in the cafeteria, for 20 years, retiring in 2000. Over the years, she enjoyed playing bingo, traveling with her husband, cross stitching, quilting, cooking and baking for her family. She especially loved it when she would run into the kids, from the school where she had cooked, and reminisce about those good days and how they have grown up.
Rosemary was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church where she had been active on the bereavement committee and a member of the Sandusky Bay Quilting Club.
She was a wonderful wife to her husband of 62 years, Larry J. Gerold, Sr., whom she married on October 15, 1955; the mother of 3 children, Barb Beierlein of Largo, FL, Larry J.(Ginny) Gerold, Jr. of Sandusky and Teri Butler of Sandusky; the grandmother of 8 grandchildren, Jennifer, Robert "Joey", Ryan, Nick, Josh, Mason, Meaghan and Jerrid; and eleven great-grandchildren; a sister, Josephine Bush of Bucyrus; and a brother, Samuel Invacato of Glendale, AZ; and several nieces and nephews.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 23, 2018, from 4-7 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Prayers will be recited Saturday morning, March 24, 2018, at 9:40 am at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
