Robert J. Langenfelder, 81, of Sandusky, unexpectedly went Home to be with wife, Donna, early Monday morning, October 29, 2018, while at his home.
Born on June 18, 1937, in Sandusky, OH the son of John Michael and Elizabeth Marie (Wobser) Langenfelder. In his earlier days, he had attended the Sandusky Public Local Schools. For 20 years, Bob had worked at the Busch and Thiem Company as a machinist and later was a self-employed painter for over 40 years, before retiring. What he especially loved to do was work on his farm, and in his earlier days, he loved hunting and fishing.
He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the National Rifle Association.
Bob is survived by three daughters, Debbie (Richard) Niehm, Connie (Richard) Stark and Christine (Sam) Schmenk; two sons, Duane M. Langefelder and Robert F. (Laura) Langenfelder, all of Sandusky; 10 grandchildren, Alexis, Richard, Elizabeth, Erica, Emily, Kevin, Brittany, Joshua, Celestine and Brynn; and 11 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife of 54 years, Donna M. (LaCourse) Langenfelder on September 20, 2012.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 2, 2018, from 3-7 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Prayers will be recited Saturday morning, November 3, 2018, at 9:40 am at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Fr. Monty Hoyles officiating. Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery, Castalia, OH.
