Robert Michael Hamlin II

  Robert M. "Mikey" Hamlin, II, 33, of Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly early Friday morning, February 23, 2018, at his home.
   Born on October 21, 1984, in Sandusky, the son of Robert Michael and Jacalyn Kay "Jackie" (Nielsen) Hamlin I.  He was a 2003 graduate of Sandusky High School.  Mikey had worked for the past few years as a welder at MetalTek International, LEWCO and later at  ThorWorks Industries.  Over the years, he enjoyed bowling and had bowled in the Sandusky Bowling Leagues, but he mostly loved Demo Derbys and especially Power Wheel Derbys with his son, Bentley.
   He is survived by his son, Bentley Michael Hamlin; his mother, Jackie Hamlin; his former wife Tricia (Papenfuss) Hamlin; paternal grandmother, Pearl Hamlin; paternal uncles, Gene (Cathy) Hamlin, Steve (Melody) Hamlin and Nick (Addie) Hamlin;  paternal aunts, Connie Clark and Shirilene McLaughlin;  maternal aunts, Joan (Pete) Knef and Janet (John) Hamilton; his cousins, Amy, Erik, Craig, Libby, Cindy, Robin, Alan, Amber, Scarlette, Richie, Jenny, Matt, Joey, Nick, Jr. and Lauri; and many special friends.
   Mikey was preceded in death by his father, Robert M. "Bob" Hamlin I; his paternal grandfather, Robert T. Hamlin; and his maternal grandparents, Micky and Ida (Sprau) Nielsen.
   Visitation will be held on Friday, March 2, 2018, from 4-7 pm at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.  Funeral services will be held Saturday morning, March 3, 2018, at 11 am at the Meadow Green Memorial Park Chapel, 2602 Bogart Road, Huron, OH.  Rev. Mel Sayler officiating.  Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
   The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his memory to the family to care for his son's future or to ones favorite charity.
