Patricia S. "Grandma Buns" Baum, 90, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully in her sleep early Saturday morning, January 11, 2020, at her home.
Born on August 15, 1929, in Castalia, OH the daughter of Edward Hazard and Margarette Frances (Ebert) Snowden. She was a 1947 graduate of Margaretta High School. Over the years, she enjoyed cooking, baking and knitting, but she especially loved gardening. Pat was loved by everyone and she was known by many as their "Favorite Human Being." She, with her husband Elton, attended St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Pat is survived by her husband, Elton C. Baum; her family, Ed (Linda) Spayd of Kelleys Island, Susan (John) Faggionato and Michael (Veronica) Spayd, both of Castalia; three grandchildren, Mary and Samantha Spayd and Elizabeth Ann "Betsy" (Adam) Seltzer; her seven great-grandchildren, Liliann, Vivien, Little Eddie, Nora, Emilie, Greyson, and Hudson; five step-grandchildren, Natasha, Caleb, Taylor, Brock, and Kiley; step great-grandchildren, Little Maddie and Kaylyn; a special niece, Kathy Newton; a special nephew, Sammy Snowden; and a very special friend, Mary Ann Shultz.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Jean Jensen and Helen Prout; and a brother, Sam Snowden.
It was Pat's wish to be cremated. The family will receive friends on Saturday morning, January 18, 2020, from 9 am until time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Avenue, Sandusky. Fr. Jeff Walker officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to Back to the Wild, P.O. Box 423, 4504 Bardshar Road, Castalia, OH 44824.
Arrangements are entrusted to the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky.
