Marguerite E. "Susie" Minier, 88, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully early Thursday morning, November 21, 2019, at the Admiral's Pointe Nursing Home, Huron, after a lengthy illness.
Born on February 13, 1931 in Vickery, OH the daughter of Arthur William and Jeannette (Donaldson) Neidler, Sr.. Susie was a 1949 graduate of Margaretta High School. She had worked at Christiansen Refuse for nearly 20 years, before retiring in 1993. In 1992. she began volunteering at the Ohio Veterans Home and later received recognition with a service pin for 25 years of serving our veterans at the Home. Susie was also the recipient of the 2002 "Women of Excellence" Award. In years past, she was also the Avon representative in the local area for 29 years..
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and a life member of the AMVETS Post # 17 Ladies Auxiliary..
Susie is survived by her son, James D.(Laura) Minier of Whites Landing; her daughter, Lisa A. Minier of The Meadows at Osborn Park, Huron; a granddaughter, Christina (Tim) Leeds of Frederick, MD; 2 great-grandchildren, Claire and William Leeds; her special niece, Dotty "Little Susie" (Arnie) Wright of Huron; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Minier (1976); a grandson, Steven J. Minier; three sisters, Dorothy Ferdinandsen, Dixie Patton and Jean Floro; and her three brothers, Ted, Vern and Arthur "Juny" Neidler, Jr..
Visitation will be held Monday morning, November 25, 2019, from 9:30 am until time of the funeral services at 11 am at the David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Rev. Wally Gilbert officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to the Steven J. Minier Scholarship Fund, c/o CIVISTA Bank.
